New comment policy of BlogKori

A few changes have been made in my blog’s comment’s section. I’ve made my blog’s comments as DoFollow. And that means you’ll get a link back to your blog for your contribution. To get a backlink, you must have 3 approved comments.

I set the value 3 because I wanted to give this opportunity to my commentators who really put a lot of time reading and commenting on my blog and to avoid random users.

The top commentators widget is still here and it’s DoFollow. Post a number of comments to get in to the list and you’ll have a linkback from my entire site. PS: The widget is set to reset every month so you have the fair chance!

The top spot is still enabled, meaning that you’ll get the top 234×60 banner when you’ll become last month’s top commentator.

I’ve added the threaded comments option which will now allow all of us to have a discussion on the comments section.

Some people are leaving comments with keywords and this won’t be accepted. Please choose your name/ brand name to leave comments. For my regular commentators with no identical images, please sign up for Gravatar and set your unique image.

Comments policy will be taken much more seriously now and any spam, off topic and non-quality comments will be removed instantly. I don’t moderate comments, so if your comment is held under moderation, that means Akismet software have marked it as spam. Please email me from: blogkori.com/contact about it when you think it’s a mistake.

If you have any more requests or something more to know, then feel free to leave a comment!

Hey, thanks for the dofollow policy. Btw, just wondering if implementing this affects existing comments also or only future comments?

I killed the DoFollow on my blog because I thought it had effected my PR, if my PR returns then I will do like you Tamal.

@Geoserv, I’ll give link to them who are leaving at least 3 comments, I think its fair. By the way, linking to other site doesn’t hurts PR, linking to bad neighborhood does. NoFollow was set to eliminate spam. But the people who did this to all blogs, failed to stop spam!

Never realised you weren’t NoFollow previously. Ah well this is a fair policy change and the backlinks are a nice benefit for us commenters!

(Could still do with darker text though!!)

@Blog Income Report, I have set DoFollow few days ago, now I’m announcing officially.

I tried to change the text color, but I was unable to do that because it was in the core of the template.

Changing text colors should not be a big problem, even it is part of the template core you can still give a new css attribute, if you need I can help, you know my email:)

@Tamal, add a font color to this line in your CSS file:

.comment-content {

font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

}

Perhaps change it to:

.comment-content {

font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #000;

}

I wish I could edit my above comment, instead of using

color: #000;

make it:

color:#464442;

That would keep your theme consistent.

That’s a fair policy. I have only seen an increase of PR since using the DoFollow comments, so I don’t think it hurts the PR too badly. Maybe it stops you from getting really high up in numbers, but my blog is more for my readers than for Google’s PR system anyway. :)

Hi Tamal.
Thanks for being dofollow. I am starting to setup all my blogs as dofollow now. Actually I thought they were dofollow but when I looked using the NoDoFollow Firefox plugin I got a shock. It’s going to take me a week of work to get them all done.

I decided on the nofollow-free plugin that has it’s own top commenter widget and it works. I saw you have set your dofollow from the 3rd comment and that is something I am still pondering over. But one can always change it.

@Gert Hough, DoFollow is enabled from the 3rd comment for them who have spent a decent amount of time writing comments for my blog. It’s also to avoid people from posting the only comment “Nice post!” and to get a link love.

I’m sure DoFollow will bring more comments to your blog.

Thanks for this tuto! I was trying to install disqus but It was not getting installed correctly! Then I switched to intense debate! As I have a highly modified template :D so it was also not integrating fully! But from this post of blogger buster I successfully installed it with a bit modification of the code! Its really gr8! Also I saw this system on your blogspot blog :)
