HostGator Review – Read why I recommend this web host as a blogger

Hostgator webhostingWhen I moved my blog to wordpress, I installed it on a free web hosting provider. I thought its okay to rely on a free web hosting account and I’m not getting such traffic which will overload the server.

After starting the blog once again, lots of my friends started to complain me about getting an error message most often when they try to browse my blog. Now this is a serious matter because I have to keep my blog live 24 hours; becuase I’m using a free host, I can’t even complain.

Then I tried to search good web hosting solutions who accept paypal payments. I don’t have a credit card so I have to pay online with my paypal balance. I read a review about hostgator and give it a try. In hostgator, the first package gives you only one domain and website. If you add another $1, you’ll get unlimited domains and websites. That’s a fine plan for me, so I signed up for the service.

Over at the hostgator subscription page, I saw if I take the basic package, I have to pay additional $10 startup fee. But the second pack with unlimited domains doesn’t have a startup fee.

The support is excellent

The control panel is an easy one and I understood most of the functions of the site. Then I had to move my blog from the old host to the new one and then I faced problem. The problems were so much frustrating and I was unable to figure out what to do? I shoot a support ticket to hostgator and within minutes they replied with the solution! Now I like that!

So each time I get an error, or a problem, I simply write an email to the support and get an expert solution. After a while I was having problem with uploading images. I asked for help and the engineer asked for my login details. He fixed the problem from the root and now running my blog with no tension!

I have lots of blogs and websites

The package I got comes with unlimited websites and domains. I have around 6 blogs + sites running on hostgator and I can add more. The website and data storage is limited by inodes. There are 250,000 inodes available and each new wordpress blog takes 2500 inodes. This means I can have hundreds of blogs on this subscription.

Pay with paypal balance

Just as I said before, I choose hostgator because I’m only able to pay with paypal. You can pay monthly with your paypal balance to hostgator and enjoy the great service. You can also decide to pay in advance for a longer period.

Is it worth the investment?

Yes, hostgator is worth your money and I recommend you to get a subscription. If you’re from another host, they will help you move your sites to hostgator for free. There are unlimited email accounts, redirects, auto responders, domain forwarding and site builder. It has fantastico software which helps you install wordpress, joomla or other softwares.

All I have to pay is a little amount for this great service that holds all of my web assets. You can earn $8-10 with a paid review every month, so why not invest it to rebust your blogs? Go and get a pack at HostGator!

I’ve read positive reviews about DreamHost but the only host I ever tried is HG. No way.. you’re a game addict?

I would agree on Hostgator as a great solution to webhosting, In the past I used to have Godaddy but then I switched over to Hostgator and really liked it, a friend of mine also swears by HostGator. But I also have my own dedicated server at the same time. =D

Till then,

Jean

GoDaddy is well known for domains and they can handle domains better. Because domains and hosting are related, so they added the hosting option. Just like hostgator has domain options; but infact each of them is good at their own side.

Yeah you are right Tamal, that’s why using Godaddy as your Domain Registrar, combined with Hostgator as your hosting, is a powerful combination =D

Till then,

I am proudly hosted by HostGator for all of my projects.

They have fast servers and extremely fast support and real people available on Twitter as well.

Good post, definitely recommend HostGator.

Hostgator is dependable and affordable. I have been using host gator for Rongila.com, MuktiBangla.com, and AmarShonarBangla.com for years. Right now I keep my blog in wordpress.com servers because I don’t want to pay monthly fees. But hostgator have the best support I have seen when it comes to web hosting.

After having the experience with BD domain providers, I feel the same will happen if I get a hosting from them.. the service will be poor, low class servers and when I will ask for support, they won’t have a clue on what I’m talking about. The charge I’m paying to HG is like peanuts comparing to the service I’m receiving.

It sounds like they offer good quality, and a great deal. I might consider using them at some stage.

I know what it’s like to have a crappy host. It’s horrible, like being in a bad marriage. You’ve invested a lot of time and effort – as well as money – in the relationship. So you don’t want to just walk away from it when you realize it’s not working. So you hang on, putting up with so many negatives. But eventually you just have to leave!

Not a nice experience. That’s why it’s really important to look around, read reviews of hosts before choosing one.

I have had nothing but good experiences with hostgator. Their servers are very reliable and their customer support is pretty good. I haven’t compared their pricing in a while, but it was a good deal when I signed up.

Great post. After using a number of other web hosts, I have switched my sites over to host gator. They are wonderfull and offer great support. I still use GoDaddy to register my domains. I believe it is wise to isolate your domain registrar from you hosting provider.
